The 2007-2008 Order of the Omega awards have been given and some of our brothers have been recognized for awards. We, as a brotherhood, could not be more proud of our brothers and their accomplishments. The awards list can be located under the link “Awards”. We also held our 2nd Annual Phi Sigma Kappa Slam Kickball tournament last weekend and it was very successful. We raised over $2,000 dollars for our philanthropy and we had a great time doing it. Information about the Phi Sigma Kappa Slam Kickball tournament can be found under the new “Phi Sigma Kappa Slam” page.
The Kappa Class Initiation will be held tonight, April 18, 2008. These associate members have put in a lot of work and effort and have shown true brotherhood in all their doings. They have been taught the cardinal principles; Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Character, and they have exemplified them. We, at Gamma Triton are proud to welcome our new Brothers to our chapter and they will be an asset to this fraternity. The new Phi Sigma Kappa Brothers of the Gamma Triton Chapter of USC are:
Pledge Class President: George Winter
Pledge Class Vice-President: Richard Walter
Michael Shealy

Alexander Brings
Ryan Hight
Aaron Branham
Kevin Hansen
JT George

Since the fall 2006 initiation of Zeta Class, Gamma Triton has initiated a total of 24 new brothers. Eta Class was initiated March 2, 2007 as that years winter class and consists of Clint Patrick, John Huang, Jay Austin, Caleb Carter, and Justin King. A little more than a month later, Theta Class was successfully initiated on April 19. These five brothers include Michael Doucette, Dan Brennan, Stu Timmons, Dave Cornett, and Kris Watson. After a summer off, Gamma Triton was able to initiate our second largest pledge class to date. On November 16, 14 men were initiated into the Brotherhood of Phi Sigma Kappa; John Mecke, Brett Weisband, Jordan Thompson, Greg Condon, Andrew Schmickley, Ray Curbelo, Campbell Houston, Kyle Smith, James Rowe, Ryan Phillips, Max Humphrey, Tyler Ganzel, Mark Szarka, and Michael Richter. Members from each of these classes have already begun to step up in leadership roles and will be the future of this chapter. Through their hard work and dedication they have proved they are all men of strong character and we expect great things from them in the coming years.
The Gamma Triton Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity was again honored this year at the Office of Greek Life’s Order of Omega Awards. The chapter was named USC’s Fraternity Chapter of Excellence and USC’s Outstanding New Member Education Program. Additionally, the chapter became the first fraternity in school history to win Dance Marathon’s Miracle Cup with Kappa Delta Sorority. Together Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and Kappa Delta Sorority raised over $12,500 that will benefit the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. The chapter also held its first annual philanthropy this past spring in the form of a kick ball tournament for sororities. The “Phi Sig Slam” was very successful and $1,000 was raised for Phi Sigma Kappa’s national philanthropy, Special Olympics. The chapter was also named Party Walk Champions along with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. when the two fraternities joined forces to participate in the USC Fraternity Council philanthropy. Finally, the chapter was also pleased to learn that it completed 1,010 hours of community service, surpassing its goal of 800 hours. Damn Proud.
